Surgery

Having surgery is a daunting prospect for most people, which is completely normal. The best thing you can do is approach it with a positive attitude. If you search online you will find many videos, especially on You-Tube. Most people will find them more alarming than helpful. This   is often counterproductive and creates more anxiety. I do not recommend it.

I will not have offered you surgery if I did not think you would gain benefit. In most cases you will have failed conservative options with surgery being last resort. Acceptance naturally takes time. I aim always to make you better to the best of my abilities while minimizing risk.

With this in mind I have included copies of my Pre-Operative instructions and the consent form you will need to sign. Please read these beforehand so that we can address any questions. Obviously these apply specifically to my practice in Cape Town South Africa.
